NHS Trust Thanks Team Burtons

The commitment by everyone at Burton’s Biscuits to keep production lines flowing in the safest possible environment during these challenging times has been praised by a leading NHS Trust.

As part of our ongoing support for NHS workers and charitable organisations throughout the UK, we have donated 10,000 packets of biscuits, including household favourites Wagon Wheels and Maryland Double Choc Cookies, to West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Trust’s Charity Director Sofia Sheikh expressed her gratitude on behalf of the organisation’s 5,000 staff and volunteers and said: “We are extremely grateful to all Burton’s staff working in such difficult times to help front line NHS staff. Your kindness will be very much appreciated and will go a long way to help keep those working tirelessly to protect us all."

“A simple thing like a biscuit should not be underestimated in times like these and we therefore thank you sincerely for your gift to Raise, West Hertfordshire’s Hospitals Charity.”

Director of Customer Supply Chain, Tim Walker, echoed Sofia’s comments: “We should never lose sight of the fact that by manufacturing as many biscuits as possible across our bakeries, whilst continuing to prioritise the health and wellbeing of all our colleagues, we are bringing much-needed cheer to people in these most difficult of times.

“Maintaining production not only means we can continue to meet our customers’ demands, we can also continue to support the NHS and charities which are doing such a marvellous job.”

Another charity to benefit from a product donation is HILS (Hertfordshire Independent Living Service), a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering a range of services including meals on wheels to older and vulnerable people still living at home.
