New Product Development
Deborah Hilton

Hello I’m Deborah, I work in New Product Development and have worked for Burton’s for over 25 years! My role is really important for the future of the company creating new and exciting products to keep our customers happy and always coming back for more. Working in the development team no two days are the same, one day could be like an episode of the “Bake off” and the next day I could be running a whole line with a new biscuit trial. I love working at Burton’s they have supported me with lots of training which has allowed me to progress my career as well as having the best team to work with! If you’re thinking of joining the Burton’s family it’s a great place to work with excellent career opportunities and of course there is always tea and biscuits lying around.

Process Operative
Alan Metcalfe
Hi, I’m Alan and I work in the process department at Burton’s. Part of my job is to ensure all the biscuits we bake are as perfect as our customers expect and deserve. I have worked at Burton’s for a little over two years, I started here as a packer and have worked in various positions on the mixing floor. I love my job, knowing I am part of something regarded as a national institution, I grew up with Wagon Wheels in my lunchbox and now this is shown as a sparkle in my eye when I tell people where I work!
Last year I was involved in Burton’s Big Idea where colleagues around all our bakeries were invited to develop some new biscuit thinking, I was a finalist and got to pitch my idea in front of our CEO and COO this was such a great experience. If you’re thinking about joining Burton’s I would say go for it!.. if you enjoy a biscuit (or two) and want to contribute to what is a national delicacy, come on board and give it your best!
