What do you do at Burton's?
Hi, I'm Sital, and I work in the marketing team as Marketing Controller. All my friends think I have the best job.... and I totally agree with them :-)
I lead the team that look after our 2 power brands, Maryland Cookies - the nations No.1 and favourite cookie, and Mars Biscuits portfolio. In 2017 we forged a new partnership with Mars, Cakes Drinks & Treats, and together we have created a range of great-tasting Mars Biscuits. In 2020 we launched Maltesers Biscuits - a project that took 18 months to bring to market. I'm so proud to have led this from conception to launch. After only 5months in the market, it is already the BIGGEST biscuit launch in the category for 2020!!.
What does your typical day look like?
There are no 2 days the same - and this is what I really enjoy about my role. Some days it may mean rolling your sleeves and being hands-on, for example attending prints runs to sign off the artwork for a product launch. Other days could be strategy planning sessions with our Category, Finance and Innovation colleagues.
How long have you worked at Burton's?
I joined the business in August 2015, almost 5 years now. I joined the company as Senior Marketing Manager, looking after the Savoury Portfolio (Fish 'n' Chips and Cathedral City Snacks). I have been fortunate to have been able to work with our partners Saputo, Unilever and Mars Cakes, Drinks & Treats who have a vast suite of brands loved by the nation. I was promoted to Marketing Controller in March 2019.
Why do you love working at Burton's?

3. Burton's gives me the flexibility to do my job around my family set up. I have 2 young children (6&12) to juggle as well as a full-time job, I really appreciate the support I have to manage both.
What is your favourite part of your role?
I am really passionate about what I do... In marketing my role is to make this passion infectious. So from within our business, to our retailers but also as we reach out to our consumers.
How has Burton's supported you and your development?
At Burton's, we have an extensive PDP process. Allow individuals to monitor their annual objectives and track against these throughout the year with regular checks ins with their line manager.
What advice would you give to someone considering joining the family?
If you want to be part of a business where you can have real ownership and autonomy, then Burton's is the place to work. I'll be honest there are times when it feels like we're on a rollercoaster, BUT the best feeling is that your on it with a GREAT bunch of people that are HARD working and FUN to be around with lots of free biscuits to hand. :-)
