Location: Flexible working location due to nature of the role, we expect on average you will spend around 2 days a week in our St Albans Head Office and 1 day a week traveling to one of our UK manufacturing locations and spending time with your team in person.

What is the main focus of your role?
As the Head of Supply Planning you will have responsibility for coordinating the Supply Planning teams to deliver target levels of service, cost and inventory across the company network. This role is accountable for the Supply activities within the S&OP process, and for defining the future Supply Chain Planning strategy within the company.
You will also have responsibility for delivering planning process improvements, which will support the S&OP agenda of producing cash flow savings through reduced stock holding as well as factory efficiency savings through stable production plans.
It means analysing every little detail, spotting and overcoming barriers and working towards our ambitious plans.
As a multi-site business travel and a presence in our bakeries will be required regularly, we expect this would be a day a week.
What knowledge do you need to have to be successful in this role?
Senior leadership experience in supply chain and logistical planning and execution and leading teams within this area will be key. Career experience at some stage within a manufacturing environment within a supply planning function is essential.
As one of the top 20 senior leaders within Burton’s Biscuits, we need you to be an inspirational leader coupled with great people management experience and who has a great balance of people and commercial focus. With an open and collaborative style, you’ll be confident in your ability to deliver both personally and through your team. A track record of building and developing teams will be key.
Final Part of the Mix
You will be looking after a high SKU range, so you will need to be strong analytically and be able to develop reports to simplify and aid key business decisions (stock policy, optimised inventory levels etc.).
Confident and flexible communications skills and styles will be key, as you’ll be responsible for communicating key messages & influencing across key functions at a variety of levels.
