Location: 50% of your time will be spent in our Head Office, St Albans – 5 minutes from St Albans City Station, with the other 50% of your time working from home.

What does your typical day look like?

Reporting into the Operational Finance Director (Board Level), the purpose of the Head of Commercial Finance is to work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Insights and Planning teams to provide clear and strong financial challenge to the Sales and wider commercial teams and day to day support to the Senior Management team in improving business performance and execution of the current strategy. 

 

This role will also maintain responsibility for:

•                Branded strategy from a customer perspective

•                Overall management of the Commercial Finance and Customer Planning team

 

This is a key role within the wider Leadership team and will involve managing a wide range of stakeholders including several Board members and you will be involved in strategic projects across a wide variety of areas.

 

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

You will need to be a qualified accountant, with experience of leadership within a commercial finance function. You don’t need experience of food manufacturing (although this would be a huge plus if you did), but if you have had experience within a branded or blue chip or similar size organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

 

You’ll need excellent presentation and influencing skills, as this role will contribute to key business decisions play a key role in shaping the business strategy at board level.

 

Final Part of the mix…

Advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyse and manipulate complex financial data, as well as competent with reporting systems (we use Cognos TM1 & SAP, knowledge of these systems would be a bonus)
