Location: Homebased role, travel to St Albans Head Office 2-4 times a month and international travel to meet customers as required, which will include overnight stays. (Currently a home working due to covid)

 

Package: Competitive salary, company performance related bonus (paid out the last 4 years), 25 days holiday (plus option to buy an extra 5 days), single private healthcare cover,

Burton’s Biscuits are owned by a Private Equity Owned business Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP or Teachers for short) and form part of their c.$200 B Net Assets portfolio.   Working in partnership with Teachers, has allowed Burtons Biscuits to become a forward thinking and progressive business.

 

In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.

 

As a result, we now have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans.   In total we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.

What does your typical day look like?

Every day is different at Burton’s Biscuit Company, but the main purpose of this role will be is to step change how we engage European retailers by developing partnerships at a market level whilst also managing day to day existing accounts and to maximise growth potential.

 

One day you might in the office speaking to our key international customers, the following day you might be on a plane to meet with a new customer or buyer in person (hopefully soon anyway!)

 

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

If you have strong Account Management experience, where you have worked with international customers within a food or an FMCG environment. You will also need to be comfortable on the phone, a strong negotiator and be an excellent presenter; part of this role would be to bring on new retailer brand business.
