Burton’s Biscuits are owned by a Private Equity Owned business Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP or Teachers for short) and form part of their c.$200 B Net Assets portfolio. Working in partnership with Teachers, has allowed Burtons Biscuits to become a forward thinking and progressive business.
In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.
As a result, we now have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans. In total we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented National Account Manager to join our sales team in Ireland. It will be a home based role with regular travel to customer meets as well as occasional trips to the UK for various company meetings and events.

This is an opportunity to join an innovative sales team full of energy, drive and passion. You will make a real difference by managing your customer base and working closely with other departments to deliver great results across our branded & private label ranges.
What does your typical day look like?
Every day is different at Burton’s Biscuit Company. One day you could be providing input internally on business strategy and the following day you could be speaking with a customer, sharing and executing our exciting plans. This role involves managing customers throughout the island of Ireland – North and South.
Your main objective will be to deliver budgeted Volume, Revenue & Margin for designated customers through execution of annual business plans. Your key focuses will be on optimising core range, promotional activity, NPD listings and activation along with continuously review our range to close distribution gaps.
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?
You need to be commercially savvy to drive our business forward with the desire to build strong relationships internally and externally. Strong negotiation skills are key combined with a proactive, self-starting attitude. With previous P&L responsibility, you will know the key levers to pull to create winning proposals for Burtons and our Customers.

As a forward thinking and innovative food manufacture, we need an equally creative individual to bring new ideas and ways of selling our products into our customers. Experience of dealing with customers / buyers within the multiple retail, wholesale or convenience channels at head office level is essential. Any experience within the FMCG Food or Beverage categories would be a bonus but is not essential.
