Burton’s Biscuits are owned by a Private Equity Owned business Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP or Teachers for short) and form part of their c.$200 B Net Assets portfolio.   Working in partnership with Teachers, has allowed Burtons Biscuits to become a forward thinking and progressive business.


In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.


As a result, we now have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans.   In total we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.

If you’d enjoy seeing how your input would make a difference in driving some of the best biscuit brands across the Convenience & Supermarket channels, then this is the team for you.


What does your typical day look like?

Every day is different at Burton’s Biscuit Company, although a large portion of your week will be supporting the team with forecasting or customer administration, but the next day could be working with the team on customer presentations or pricing negotiations.


Once you have found your feet in the commercial team, you will look after the day to day management of a well know nationwide convenience retailer portfolio. This is a channel that is continuing to grow for Burton’s Biscuits and offers real opportunity to grow with it.


What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

This would also be a great role for someone who maybe has had some Field Sales experience with a food FMCG company, or has experience working in a buying or administration team and is looking to move into a more traditional national account management team. It could also suit someone with strong sales and business development skills where a huge focus is delivering a great service for the customer.


We’re also keen to hear from recent graduates who have some customer-facing experience or candidates who have proven experience at a JNAE level or similar roles in a commercial FMCG environment.

You need to be a team player with a desire to learn and be comfortable dealing with numbers! Strong commercial awareness and must be able to demonstrate a passion for a career within sales within Burtons Biscuits.  


You’ll need to be super confident with excel, as you will be looking after a lot of information in a very fast paced environment. 


Strong interpersonal skills is essential combined with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
