Burton’s Biscuits are owned by a Private Equity Owned business Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP or Teachers for short) and form part of their c.$200 B Net Assets portfolio. Working in partnership with Teachers, has allowed Burtons Biscuits to become a forward thinking and progressive business.
In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.
As a result, we now have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans. In total we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.

Why work as part of the Burton’s Biscuit Family as our Senior Planned Maintenance Technician?
You will be responsible for providing a timely and effective engineering service to our production team whilst ensuring safety, quality and hygiene standards are met. This includes carrying out planned maintenance, attend and repair breakdowns and reporting all actions you have taken via the maintenance management system.
Our Llantarnam bakery has been busy baking tasty biscuits since 1937. Today your biscuit barrel favourites like Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Jaffa Cakes and Fig Rolls are all baked there before making their way into biscuit tins and lunch boxes up and down the UK.
In this role you will be able to develop your skills and career further within a maintenance role, with in a fast paced environment. We are committed to helping you become your Burtons Best.
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?
To work in this fantastic role you will need to have a proven track record of maintaining mechanical equipment and solving problems in a manufacturing environment. You must have a proven ability in diagnostic fault finding in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be educated to HNC standard or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar standard i.e. apprenticeship.
