Location: Main office location St Albans, but role can offer flexible working from home.

Why join us as our Digital & Social Media Manager?

 

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will help drive the Digital & Social Media strategy. You will receive a lot of autonomy in this role, meaning we do not need this person to be based from our St Albans office, but we would still like to see you from time to time.

 

This a great role for someone who is looking to gain experience acting as the lead individual across a branded and fast-paced company, you will be the online ambassador for brands such as Maryland Cookies, Jammie Dodgers, Paterson Arran Shortbread, Thomas Fudges & Wagon Wheels.

 

 

What are the key ingredients?

 

We are looking for someone who can support us with:

 

Strategy

We would like to see someone who can own the shaping, alignment and execute of our brand social media strategies. Part of this will also be setting KPIs and tracking these.

 

Campaigns

At Burton’s we manage some of the UK’s most iconic biscuit brands and we need someone who can translate above the line campaigns across our social channels. You will also need to have a strong grasp of the relevant tools, with at least a couple of year's proven experience in driving both paid and unpaid campaigns.  

 

When it comes to FMCG, biscuits are one of the fastest moving categories. So, your ability to work at pace will be critical. As this a new role within the business, you will enjoy high visibility and have a chance to make a real difference in how we approach our communications in the short, medium, and long-term.

Burton's Biscuits are owned by a Private Equity Owned business Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP or Teachers for short) and form part of their $191.1 B Net Assets portfolio. Working in partnership with Teachers has allowed Burtons Biscuits to become a forward-thinking and progressive company.

 

Our Vision is to have a shared Pride and Passion for baking sensational biscuits and snacks that delight our consumers, shoppers, and our customers.

 

Along with having amazing brands, we have secured long term agreements to allow us to manufacture many sweet & savoury snacks across Mars, Cathedral City & Marmite branded products. We also have several key strategic partnerships within the Retailer Private Label sector.

 

To ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this incredible journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge's, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across many new sweet and savoury categories.

 

As a result, we now have six bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans.   In total, we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.
