Finance Manager / Qualified Commercial Accountant (FMCG)

Location: Head Office, St Albans, Hertfordshire (only a 5 minute walk from St Albans City Station)

Salary: Competitive Salary plus Car Allowance, additional benefits to include, 25 days holiday (plus an option to buy up to an extra 5 days holiday a year), company pension, single & partner  private healthcare, company bonus scheme, free running, yoga and boot camp clubs from Head Office.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 8.45am-5.30pm Monday-Friday

In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This will increase our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.

Why work as part of our Commercial Finance Team?

In this Senior Finance Manager role, you will be pivotal in providing accurate, timely financial information and expert financial advice to senior stakeholders.

Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders both within and outside of Finance on financial matters including Board members. This is a senior role providing financial leadership within the Commercial Finance team and across the wider Finance function.

The role will partner both the Commercial and Procurement business functions to ensure sound financial decisions are made with the aim of both protecting and generating value to the business. 

A few examples of the type of task you would need to complete are:

· Manage the month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results each month with and gain an understanding of the key drivers of financial performance.

· Business partnering the commercial teams (including Board stakeholders)

· Forecasting product costings for branded and non-branded products.

· To continually develop financial systems and processes, improving the quality, timeliness and accuracy of financial controls and processes, including those in newly acquired entities.

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

You need to be a qualified accountant with some post qualified experience (ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified). If you have strong commercial finance knowledge, you a great communicator with the ability to influence that the right decisions and actions are taken, then this could be the right role for you.

Final part of the mix.

If you have experience from with a top 4 consultancy practice, a FMCG organisation (which doesn’t have to be food), or even from a blue chip company. This should give you a strong base and allow you to continue to develop your career with one the UK leading food manufacturing companies.
