What does your typical day look like?  

  1. Repair and replace any damaged webs as expediently as possible by effectively prioritising workload
  1. Teflon coat the rollers as instructed by the engineering department in order to maintain the efficiency of the roller
  1. Ensure a constant supply of webbing materials and work tools in order to fulfil the post holder’s workload
  1. Ensure the good hygiene and housekeeping of the webbing stores at all times
  2. Complete other tasks as requested by engineering management.

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

 

  1. Monitor the condition of all webs and rollers in order to promptly identify any faults 
  • Carry out a daily visual inspection of all webs, checking for damage to the seams, edges and fingers
  • On a daily basis, check for any damage to the trackers and rollers which may impede the performance of the web
  • Inform the Line Co-Ordinator of any faults, arranging a suitable time for repair 
  • On a weekly basis, check the Pirana CMMS system for each web, arranging a suitable time to repair the faults reported
  • Conduct a 3-monthly check of all rollers and guards as required by the Total Preventative Maintenance programme.

 

 

  1. Repair and replace any damaged webs as expediently as possible by effectively prioritising workload
  • Accurately cut the replacement webbing material to size, referring to the prescribed measurements for that web
  • Prepare the rollers.
  • Thread the new webbing onto the plant, using the existing web as a guide
  • Seal the new web taking care not to burn the webbing by setting the temperature and air pressure on the sealing unit as per the manufacturer’s instructions 
  • Securely repair any tears to damaged webbing material by hand stitching
  • Prevent wearing of the web by trimming any frayed edges
  • Annually replace the dimple grip by accurately cutting the dimple material to size and securing to the roller with glue

 

  1. Teflon coat the rollers as instructed by the engineering department in order to maintain the efficiency of the roller
  • Apply Teflon to the rollers using a heat gun as required and as per training guidelines

 

  1. Ensure a constant supply of webbing materials and work tools in order to fulfil the post holders workload
  • Maintain an on-going tally of the remaining stock and reorder when stock runs low as authorised by the Section Manager
  • Contact the supplier with the details of the required order, forwarding the details and price to the Engineering Stores person for purchase order processing.
  • Obtain all work tools via the Engineering Stores.

 

  1. Ensure the good hygiene and housekeeping of the webbing stores at all times
  • Ensure that all webbing stock is neatly stored on the shelving area

Routinely ensure that the floor is free from debris and on a monthly basis, scrape the floor area of the stores area.
