In our Llantarnam Bakery, home of the infamous Wagon Wheel, you’ll find our biscuit experts hard at work and we're looking for Machine Operators to join this fantastically dedicated Operations team of Smart Cookies   on a permanent contract. You will be working as part of the Operations Team operating high speed wrapping machines and checkweighers, as well as checking codes and completion of daily production documentation.


If you have had experience working in a fast paced environment, are a great multi-tasker, and want to gain experience / training in the manufacturing sector, then this is the role for you! Please note no experience of working in the manufacturing environment is required to be considered for this role. You might want to apply if you have had experience in one of the following positions: Warehouse operator, Printer, CNC Operator, Process Operator, Machine Operator, Packer, Picker, Cafe Manager, Welder


Due to our exceptional company growth, we are looking for upwards of 5 Machine Operators. 


Competitive Weekly Pay: £13.18 (includes shift allowance & paid breaks)


Location: Llantarnam Bakery, Cwmbran NP44 3YL 

Contract: Permanent, Weekly Paid

Hours: Full Time Hours. Monday - Friday. Choice of Shift Patterns (see below)


Rotational Shift Pattern. 3 Day Shift Pattern. 3 Days on / 8 Days off. (Start and Finish times will be confirmed at interview) 36 Hours Per Week.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operating high speed wrapping machines and checkweighers.
  • Checking codes and completion of daily production documentation.
  • Maintenance of hygiene and housekeeping standards and ‘clean as you go’ procedures.
  • Maintenance of quality standards procedures.
  • Maintenance of Health and Safety standards

 

Key Ingredients:

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Applicants need to be numerate/ literate/ flexible/ self-motivated/ good problem-solving abilities/ ability to work with minimum supervision and use own initiative.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team.
  • Excellent time keeping and attendance record.
  • Basic awareness of health & safety and food safety / hygiene requirements (training and certifications will be provided as part of the role)
