Shift Operations Manager

 

1.    Role Specification

 

 

Overview

 

Responsibility for delivery of the production plan over a 12 month period, supporting and driving improvement plans, CI initiatives, budget and resources to support the overall Edinburgh site improvement strategy  and in particular performance of lines within area.

 

Areas 1.       Operations

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

 

·         Continually develop our safety systems to improve the safety & wellbeing of our employees

·         Lead the operations team to continuously improve plant output whilst meeting the requirements of a complex, high volume production site.

·         Delivery of financial budget aligned with the delivery of KPI’s (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime, planned tonnage).

·         Work in partnership with site functions, in particular Engineering to deliver line annual targets.

·         Develop the operations function to achieve best practice

·         Support embedding site principles as part of the Edinburgh Improvement Strategy within area

·         Providing/support/maintain all legislative and compliance activity as required

·         Demonstrate role model and winning behaviours to support site culture

·         Support, motivate, develop and coach the team in order to recognise and reward performance and drive robust succession planning

 

 

2.    Person Specification

 

 

Qualifications. Essential & Desirable.

 

·         Formal qualification in manufacturing excellence

·         Lean sigma green belt.

·         Lean sigma black belt

·         IOSH.

·         NEBOSH.

·         Food safety/Hygiene qualification

 

 

Experience

 

·         Proven experience of leading an operations area, driving change management and improvement strategies in ideally a FMCG environment to improve overall site performance.

·         Use of continuous improvement tools and techniques, in particular TPM

·         Proven track record of developing high performing teams

·         Experience of working in a unionised environment

·         Ability to think strategically to enhance site/cultural performance
