BISCUIT DONATIONS ARE ON TRACK…

It’s full steam ahead for Burton’s twin track programme of supporting local and national NHS institutions, alongside dozens of charities and organisations helping people in need.
As a result, hundreds of thousands of people have received free packets of biscuits, including family favourites such as Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Maryland and Scottish shortbread, helping to raise a smile and bring some light relief in these challenging times.

Donations have been made to organisations large and small throughout the UK and special effort has been made to support local communities around Burton’s bakeries, including care and emergency services’ workers and organisations helping people facing food poverty.
In addition, almost half a million biscuits made by Burton’s have been included in care boxes for the elderly and vulnerable, delivered to the homes of people shielding from the coronavirus.

“The size and scale of the support has been magnificent and has involved a real team effort, from bakery workers to delivery drivers and many people in between playing their part. We can’t thank them enough and we’re really pleased that we’re making a difference where it matters,” says Kelly Ward, Customer Services Delivery Manager.

“The reaction we’ve had from people we’ve been supporting has been overwhelming. They really do appreciate what we’ve done and have gone out of their way to acknowledge our help.”

This week Burton’s received confirmation that deliveries can be made direct to the recently opened, 500-bed NHS Nightingale Hospital in London, along with news that 180 pallets of Burton’s mini packs will feature in care packs provided by Blue Light Card to emergency workers in 27 NHS Trusts.
