Supporting People In Need At A Time Of Crisis

As the fight to contain the Coronavirus continues, Burton’s Biscuits is delighted to be teaming up with charitable organisations throughout the UK to donate surplus stock to tens of thousands of vulnerable people in need of support, particularly at this time of great uncertainty.

Amongst the charities Burton’s is partnering with is In Kind Direct. Founded in 1996 by HRH The Prince of Wales, In Kind Direct distributes new consumer products, donated by retailers and manufacturers, to UK charitable organisations working here and abroad. The charity’s work helps ensure that everyone has access to life essentials and that no usable product goes to waste.

Burton’s initial donation is the largest single allocation of biscuits ever provided to In Kind Direct.
“In joining forces with national and local organisations throughout the UK, including In Kind Direct, we are hoping to support the magnificent efforts of so many charities and individuals who are making a positive impact to the lives of vulnerable individuals in our society. We’re pleased that Burton’s can help people in need at a time when we’re urging the nation to pull together and support each other.”, says Tim Walker, Burton’s Director of Customer Supply Chain.

Maya Pierreux, Head of Business of development at In Kind Direct, says: “We are extremely grateful for Burton’s Biscuits fantastic offer of support. Thanks to their generous donation, we will be able to further support charities and the people they help across the UK, bringing some joy and comfort to the most vulnerable, in these very challenging times.”
